Elena Claire Ricci is assistant professor in Agricultural Economics and Appraisal since 2019. She holds an MSc in Environmental Sciences at the University of Milan Bicocca, an MSc in Environmental and Resource Economics at University College London and a PhD in Economics from the University of Milan. In 2009 she obtained an MIT-Italy scholarship for a visiting period at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. 
 
Since 2006, she has carried out research at the University of Milan, FEEM, CMCC, and other Italian Universities among which the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Piacenza.
She serves as Policy Associate for the European project "Energy-SHIFTS" (Horizon 2020) on the topic of consumer choices.
 
Her main research interests are related to:
• agri-food, environmental and energy economics and policies;
• consumer behavior and choices;
• sustainability, 'sustainability transitions' and 'education for sustainable development';
• System Dynamics modeling applied to the food and energy sectors.

Her publications are mainly placed in indexed international scientific journals.

Since 2008 she has taken part to 16 national and international research projects on the topics the agri-food economics and climate change economics. She was also principal investigator for 2 projects on the diffusion of sustainability behaviour.

In 2013 she won a research prize financed by CRUI Foundation and Enel Foundation and the DEMM Best paper award (University of Milan).

In terms of third mission activities, since 2016 she has organized various sustainability activities in schools at different levels (from kindergarten to university). She has also co-organized an international workshop and two seminars at the Department of Business Economics.
