Curriculum

Laura Chiaramonte is Full Professor of Banking and Finance since March 2020. She obtained the Ph.D. in Business Administration at the University of Verona in 2007. She worked at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Milan), first as Assistant Professor and then as Associate Professor.
 
Her research interests are diversified and include:
  • the determinants of bank CDS spreads;
  • the bank liquidity;
  • the banking crises;
  • the cooperative banks;
  • the bank deposit insurance;
  • the bank merger and acquisitions.
 
Her publications include principally peer reviewed journals, such as: The British Accounting Review (A ANVUR); European Financial Management (A ANVUR); The European Journal of Finance (A AIDEA); Financial Markets, Institutions & Instruments (A AIDEA). Recently, she has also written a book with a leading international publishing company.
 
She was coordinator of the research project on «The effects of the unconventional monetary policy VLTROs on bank lending in the Eurozone: an empirical analysis» financed by Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Milan) in 2018. She was also a participating member of the PRIN project on «Financial intermediaries cross-border and cross-sector concentration processes in Europe: regulatory, strategic and management issues and value creation»  co-financed by the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research (M.I.U.R.) in 2006.
 
She won international and national awards, such as: the Research Committee Award from Essex Business School (January 2020) and the Best Paper Award at the 3rd Social Impact Investments International Conference of University of Rome “La Sapienza” (December 2019).
