Discharging accountability is important for organizations that focus their activities on public interest goods and services (e.g., water, health) and need to be accountable for their actions to the community they serve, where community must be considered in a wide sense. To enrich the still scant research on accountability to the community, our further studies are focused on the following issues on accounting and accountability on several aspects on CSR, such as for: migration; the use of natural resources (e.g., water, soil); human rights; for environment (e.g., forests, animals, smart cities); for health (public and private). In exploring mechanisms organizations can use for discharging accountability, this study focuses on the wide range of stakeholder engagement tools exploring these issues through qualitative methods (e.g., focus group, interviews).
