Giuseppe Nocella holds a Laurea in Agricultural Science majoring in Agricultural Economics from the University of Naples Federico II, an MSc from the University of Aberdeen and a PhD from the University of Newcastle upon-Tyne. He is currently Associate Professor in the department of Management of the University of Verona and previously he was lecturer at the University of Bologna and University of Otago, and Associate Professor at the University of Reading.

He is an applied economist whose research interests lie at the intersection between economics and social psychology. His research output shows that he combines models of these two disciplines to explore the behaviour of individuals in relation to different contemporary issues regarding the agrifood sector and the environment such as acceptance of new food products and technology, alternative supply chains and organic products, animal welfare, dietary and water drinking habits, food safety and infectious diseases, nutrition and health claims and so on. His papers have been published in well-respected peer reviewed journals and often are the output of national and international research grants where he has been principal investigator or coinvestigator.
